Take a walk on the caring side
The very first DirectAxis Walk for Hunger took place on Sunday, 25 March 2018 at Kenilworth Racecourse.
With over 3 million children in South Africa going hungry daily, we are proud to partner with Rise Against Hunger to help end hunger by 2030.
Rise Against Hunger (RAH) is an international organisation that distributes food and aid to the world’s most vulnerable, mobilising the necessary resources to end hunger.
The DirectAxis Walk for Hunger was started with the intention to increase awareness of hunger in South Africa, to raise much-needed funding, and to create a new market of volunteers for their labour-intensive meal-packing. DirectAxis Financial Services covers the costs of every Walk for Hunger event, ensuring that every cent donated by the public and every ticket fee goes straight into purchasing meals.
The 2018 event started with a leisurely 4.32km walk led by a brass band and ended with our high energy cheerleaders and cool marimba sounds. Delicious food on offer and amazing artists kept the party going till late afternoon.
Happy hearts, happy feet and happy tummies all round.
A huge thanks once again to all our supporters, artists and friends who contributed:
